Reverted for the Time Being
Since I apparently messed something up when I did the old window dressing, I've reverted to my old template temporarily. My banner went away entirely (in the Safari browser), so I knew it was code red time.

I use FireFox & Camino, for my blog, on Mac OS X(Panther);
I don't always trust Safari.

Yes and no. I've been trying to spend as little time updating my template as possible because my browser decides to spontaneously quit whilst republishing. I don't think it's blogger - it's definitely this crappy laptop. I will be making all of my adjustments in Firefox.
