This is Jim Rice's best chance to be elected to the Hall of Fame. More than 500 ballots are in the hands of the scribes and must be mailed before the end of the month. The announcement will be made Jan. 10.

For the love of all that's holy, let this be the year that justice is served.
I heard on the radio say that with all the steroids and whatnot, people will now realize how great Jim Ed's accomplishments were, being drug-free.
You know what I just thought of while writing this? Shouldn't glasses be illegal in sports? Isn't that performance-enhancing? But then you'd have to ban footwear, which helps you run better, clothes, which make you more comfortable when it's cold out, etc, etc. My mistake.
